About Stefanie Moore

I have a passion for all things digital and enjoy learning and teaching about online tools that help us better communicate, educate and entertain. As a PR professional, I stress the power of storytelling and great writing. As an information architect, I emphasize the importance of usability and user experience design when it comes to packaging those stories digitally. I am a professor in the School of Media and Journalism at Kent State University where I teach a number of courses, including Digital PR and Social Media, Digital Analytics in Ad and PR, Social Media Strategies, Crisis Communications, Ethics, Case Studies and the capstone campaigns course. My teaching focuses on how emerging technologies help shape strategic communication, planning, storytelling and measuring success. Bridging theory and practice, I draw on prior industry experience in university communications and marketing and student transportation. My love for technology and digital PR blossomed during my time as part of Kent State University\'s Web team where I managed search engine optimization, usability planning and testing, accessibility, content updates and many other Web-related initiatives. My current research interests focus on the responsible use of AI in PR education and professional practice with an emphasis on transparency and human oversight. I earned a bachelor\'s degree in public relations and a master\'s degree in information architecture and knowledge management from Kent State University.
