When I graduated from college, I took a year off to work with the Jesuit Volunteer Corp. I loved working with my refugee families and learning from them what it means to be determined, to serve others and the importance of freedom. I was fortunate to be able to take time from my career to stay home with my kids. It was 10 years filled with PTA and community service. Over the years, I have served on several local civic and school committees in addition to coordinating three major school levy campaigns.
