As new Director during a pandemic, I helped lead our library into a new phase of service and safety. I have and am currently attending virtual conferences, trainings, and meetings concerning aspects around operations during difficult times as well as new director leadership.As I came on-board, I hired a graphic designer from Creative Chica to brand our library. My goal is and was to be on par with most libraries in the state with our visual recognition and marketing strategies. We have so far secured our library\'s first logo, a redesigned and redeveloped user-friendly and visually appealing website, a cohesive email system, and business cards for staff. I have secured a few mini-grants from the state and town regarding Covid safety measures from the Cares Act and Take It Outside Initiative. Our team continues to think of ways to serve in new measures, with our patrons as our inspiration. The American Rescue Plan Act for libraries enabled us to move forward technologically by updating and replacing old computers and procuring laptops for patron loaning. Through library grants from the Office of Library and Information Services and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, we also pioneered a project recognized by Senator Jack Reed. Any Place Office Space allows patrons to borrow a kit containing a laptop, mobile printer, and mobile hotspot for at home usage. Our goal is and was to rebuild to pre-pandemic computer capacity, as well as offer more mobile options to our staff and patrons. We continue to work on and accomplish this goal through state and federal funding.We also received a Champlin grant to renovate our original 34 year old restrooms. The project was completed in April 2022 to serve as single use restrooms for individuals regardless of gender and for families.I have worked with community agencies and departments for town festivals and continue to do so with every opportunity that arises.
