About Stefanie Covino

I have a passion for creating sustainable communities through diverse, collaborative partnerships. I believe that watershed-scale is the way to improve climate resilience together and the Blackstone Watershed Collaborative was created in order to assist low-capacity municipalities and organizations plan, prioritize, and implement nature-based solutions and restoration projects that offer multiple co-benefits. When I\'m not thinking about climate resilience (and sometimes when I am), I\'m outside playing with my dogs and horses or inside with a book and a cat curled up on my lap.

1. Blackstone Watershed Collaborative, Program Manager

   Sep 2021 — Present

   The Blackstone Watershed Collaborative was formed in September 2021 to increase capacity and communication within the Blackstone Watershed and implement the 20 goals of the Blackstone Needs Assessment Report within the next five years, ranging from creating a watershed-wide fundraising plan, updating local regulations to enhance the use of nature-based solutions, accelerating management of water chestnut, enhancing aquatic connectivity, and more. The Collaborative is an umbrella network of non-profits, universities, local/state/federal organizations, consulting groups, and others that want to address our industrial past, growing urbanization, and the impacts of climate change, and work together toward healthy watershed that supports the ecology, economy, and culture of our region.
