With over two decades of dedicated service in clinical medicine, and healthcare management, my career spans prestigious institutions including the University of Perugia, Weill Cornell Medical Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and the United Nations. I hold medical licenses in both Italy and New York State, USA, reflecting a broad and international scope of practice and expertise. My leadership roles have seen me manage substantial budgets exceeding 5 million USD and author over 40 peer-reviewed publications, which have been cited more than times, contributing to the current standards of care recognized by leading international organizations. As a seasoned board member and keynote speaker, I have shared my expertise with executive committees across the globe.My managerial journey reflects over 20 years of escalating responsibility across diverse environments, from academic settings in the US and Italy to influential positions within international organizations. At the UN, I currently head the medical entitlement teams in New York and Budapest, while also supervising medical field operations globally. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was appointed medical lead for the UN System-Wide Medevac Task Force. I also steered critical medical responses to numerous crises including the Ukraine and Gaza conflicts, where I established the MEDEVAC plans and led the logistic medical response for the UN Secretariat and numerous Agencies Fund and Programmes.As a specialist in gastroenterology and hepatology, my scientific contributions to viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) research are recognized worldwide. I have honed a deep understanding of novel small molecules targeting HCC, positioning me as an exceptional specialist dedicated to enhancing therapeutic strategies for individuals battling this disease. My commitment is to bridge the gap between complex scientific research and tangible patient outcomes, striving for advancements in treatment that offer hope and improved quality of life.As a dedicated member of the AGA, I am deeply committed to advancing the field of gastroenterology. My contributions have been recognized with the Leo and Julia Forchheimer Fellowship in Cancer Medicine, and I am honored to be elected to the Academy of Educators of the AGA. Serving on the Gastrointestinal Oncology section of the AGA Institute Council and as a Specialist Consultant for the Italian Senate, I strive to bridge the gap between clinical practice and legislative processes, ensuring the highest standards in healthcare and medical education.
