ABOUT STEFAN HEIST
Whether it\'s face recognition in smartphones, environment perception in modern cars, or quality control in industrial manufacturing: optical 3D sensors have become an essential part of our everyday lives. I have been able to contribute to the exciting development of this technology in recent years: with my PhD thesis on high-speed 3D shape measurement using novel aperiodic sinusoidal patterns and with the establishment of the junior research group \"Hyper3D\". During my doctorate, I acquired extensive knowledge in the field of optical 3D metrology. The findings of my PhD thesis have led to numerous internationally recognized publications, conference contributions, patent applications, and awards. Establishing the junior research group “High-speed 3D sensors in extended spectral ranges” and the membership in the committee of a conference of the \"International Society for Optics and Photonics\" gives me the opportunity to actively participate in shaping science. My research interests focus on the application of new wavelengths for optical 3D shape measurement, the development of high-speed pattern projectors, and the simulation-based optimization of structured light techniques.
