About Stanzin Dothon
Stanzin Dothon (he/him) is an environmental educator, aspiring social entrepreneur and sustainability advocate from Leh, UT Ladakh.He holds a degree of graduation in Economics from University of Delhi, Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainability and Built Environment from Anant National University and has been a fellow of many groups including National Youth Climate Consortium, Anant Fellowship, Zero Waste Academy and Saksham Fellowship. Passionate about environmental conservation and youth empowerment in decision-making. His work experience includes leading sustainability education initiatives under the Wipro Earthian Program in both districts of Leh and Kargil, executing Zero Waste community projects in Leh district and conducting research and impact assessments on creative pedagogies in rural schools of Nanital with Aarohi. And as a founding member of the United Youth Group, he led climate advocacy campaigns on the streets of Leh market, waste clean-ups, article writing, community mobilisation and with this efforts he gained trust of the local leaders, support of the youth and recognitions in platforms like The Better India and IDR Online and many.Currently working in Local Futures Ladakh Chapter to include youth perspective in Localisation movement through reflection workshops like past, present and future, screenings, discussions and local harvest and many more. Along with that building a community of young people with Charkha organisation as a Saksham Fellow using Ultimate Frisbee as a tool to engage with the youths of Leh district to co-create a future for Ladakh that the youth will be willing to accept!And with all of the experiences in the past and the coming future I wish to understand the different dynamics of India and the world where young blood can play a role in and bring perspective of the Himalayas like communication, advocacy, policy etc.
