As a Job Developer for TANF, WIOA and the Illinois Youth Investment Program (IYIP), I support young adults ages 16 to 24 in the Chicago area by connecting them with meaningful employment and career development opportunities. My role focuses on building employer relationships, preparing participants for the workforce, and providing ongoing support throughout their job search journey.Key Responsibilities:Recruit, develop, and maintain partnerships with local employers and businesses to place youth participants in job opportunities.Conduct job readiness training including resume development, interview preparation, workplace etiquette, and career planning.Collaborate with case managers and support staff to ensure holistic wraparound services for participants.Monitor job placements and provide ongoing support to both employers and youth to ensure retention and success.Organize career events, hiring fairs, and employer meetups to expand job opportunities.Advocate for young adults and serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and the business community.I am proud to contribute to empowering youth, reducing unemployment, and building stronger communities through career access and workforce development.
