About Renée Amant
I’m an inventor, researcher, strategist, and storyteller with a passion for the technological solutions that will impact all of humanity. I believe in the ethical and responsible pursuit of technology applied to improving lives and human potential.I am currently immersed in the efficient delivery of beneficial AI. I blend strategic leadership with hands-on technical innovation to drive high-impact, cross-functional research initiatives that shape Microsoft 365’s GenAI strategy. My current focus is on cost-efficient inference and infrastructure innovation. I operate across the full stack—from the flow of electrons to the flow of capital (and everything in between)—to architect holistic, scalable solutions. My work reduces costs and improves sustainability while also accelerating development velocity for delivering beneficial AI-based utility.Previously, I led the design and development of the \"Incubator for Global Innovation\" as part of the 2030Vision platform at the World Economic Forum. 2030Vision aims to be the global public-private platform that puts the expertise and resources of the tech sector in service of accelerating the achievement of the UN\'s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the next decade. Prior to that, I led biotech and preventative healthcare research efforts at Arm. I received Arm’s \"Innovator of the Year\" award in 2018 for quantity and quality of patentable inventions. I’ve also accepted speaking invitations covering a broad range of topics including keynote presentations at the SEMICON West AI Design Forum and The International Neuromodulation Society’s 14th World Congress. My historical research interests include behavioral processing, edge intelligence, explainable AI (XAI), machine learning, approximate computing, epigenetics, hardware-software co-design, computer architecture, low-power microarchitecture, and gender diversity in STEM fields.
