About Stacy Williams
President Theodore Roosevelt said in a 1903 speech in New York that, “[f]ar and away, the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” Helping companies overcome hurdles to achieve their goals is “worth doing” and really resonates with me. I am a driven and highly accomplished attorney with the unique combination of business acumen and extensive outside counsel experience. As a legal executive at two different energy companies, I learned how to unite a company’s various functional groups to achieve the company’s objectives. In addition to executive in-house experience, I have almost 20 years of outside-counsel experience in counseling clients in various regulatory and litigation issues.While my practice extends across the energy industry, I have significant experience in the midstream and upstream sectors. I regularly advise energy clients on all aspects of project development; regulatory; environmental; construction; commercial; corporate governance; contract, lease and royalty disputes; antitrust; land-owner issues; eminent domain; and class actions. I have also advised clients on a wide variety of civil and criminal business fraud, including matters involving anti-corruption laws (e.g, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and the UK Bribery Act of 2010), export control requirements, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and U.S. economic sanctions. Finally, I have significant international experience: working on international litigation, conducting numerous international investigations, overseeing due diligence on international transactions, and working closely with Chinese Energy Companies on numerous issues.
