Stacy McMichael is an active professional upright & electric bassist who has most recently been featured on-stage talent in Broadway shows & tours - such as “Hairspray”,\"Teatro ZinZanni\",\"Taste of Things to Come\", and the MEGA-hit \"SIX: the Musical\"(historical retelling of the 6 wives of Henry as pop divas.)She has been delighted to serve this past 1.5 years (initially as Advisor, then Governor) on the Chicago Board of the Recording Academy. Initially involved thru the GRAMMYU program - now she has opportunity to shape this experience for future members of the creative community.Her diverse musical accolades include the upcoming 2022 musical film & cast album by 2-time GRAMMY winners Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer \"All Wigged Out\", a #1 debut album on the Billboard Traditional Jazz chart (featuring Frank Catalano & Jimmy Chamberlin - the drummer of the Smashing Pumpkins), multiple tv/podcast appearances, national publication articles, International tours, a Joan Rivers televised special, as well as an hour-long PBS feature of the band in which she has led for over 14 years: lePercolateur.Ms. McMichael serves/has served as adjunct faculty at institutions such as Joliet Junior College, Olivet Nazarene University, City Colleges of Chicago, and Saint Xavier University.As a seasoned performer and educator, Stacy\'s artistry and accomplishments have range; thus allowing her to navigate an array of creative situations.

ABOUT STACY STACYBASS MCMICHAEL
Stacy McMichael is a dynamic Upright / Electric bassist, educator, and former Governor of the Chicago Chapter Board of the Recording Academy (aka GRAMMYs). She has been featured onstage in Broadway shows/tours such as “1776”, “Dreamgirls”, “Hairspray\",\"Teatro ZinZanni\",\"Taste of Things to Come\", and the smash-hit \"SIX: the Musical\". Highlights include playing cello at Lollapalooza Paris with DJ Kygo for fans, a Joan Rivers special, and leading her band, lePercolateur, in a PBS concert feature. Stacy’s achievements span a #1 Billboard Jazz album, an award-winning musical film, and International tours. As an Adjunct Professor at multiple institutions, she brings her vast experience and versatility to both stage and classroom-Ms. McMichael received her Masters degree (Jazz Bass performance & pedagogy) from the prestigious University of Miami Jazz School and her Bachelors degree (Double Bass performance) from the University of Nebraska - Omaha. Ms. McMichael is also proud to announce the completion of her website design and application development skillset. She now holds a Master\'s certificate from IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology).
