I serve as the lead emergency response specialist for Amtrak in the southwestern United States. I am the point of contact for internal & external stakeholders for all aspects of emergency preparedness, response, and continuity of operations plans & programs for Amtrak\'s southwest region (AZ, CA, CO, NV, NM, OK, TX, UT). I provide Passenger Train Emergency Response training to first responders. Passenger Train Emergency Response Training, or PTER Training, is a railroad safety course for first responders. I facilitate, coordinate and help design joint trainings between Amtrak and emergency responders. Manages the development and/or maintenance of Amtrak emergency management program to include incident management plans; Leads all hazards drills and exercises to be held with internal and external stakeholders; Performs technical writing functions, requiring knowledge of the various areas of emergency management and of the specialized terminology required. Ensure all drafted plans are in compliance with and meet the standards outlined in applicable company style guides; Designs and develops exercises utilizing the Department of Homeland Security\'s, Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) doctrine; Authors planning and exercise materials; Drafts after action reports and improvement plans to inform Amtrak\'s corrective action program; Tracks corrective actions identified by planning and exercises; Provides emergency planning expertise to author existing plans and, as needed, informs review and revision of finalized plans according to maintenance schedule; Manages EM vendors selected to support grant program implementation; Tracks project timelines and workplan for each planning effort utilizing PME and; Serves in a critical position on the Amtrak Incident Response Team.
