ABOUT STACY SATHASEEVAN
Stacy Sathaseevan has a strong record of strengthening rural and northern communities through her career endeavours, volunteerism and her passion for helping others. She grew up in rural Northern Ontario and pursued her post-secondary education at Laurentian University. She completed her B.A. Honours in 2005 and completed a B.Ed. in 2009, specializing in junior intermediate education. She is currently working on her Masters in Humanities. She has supported youth seeking employment as an employment placement consultant with the Federal public Sector Youth Internship Program, and since 2012 has worked as an Adult Liaison Coordinator for Laurentian University, recruiting adult students seeking to pursue a post-secondary education or upgrade existing skills and training. She is currently working with the Faculty of Graduate Studies as an Information Officer, helping students with their scholarship applications, professional development and orientation. Additionally, she is the new Dean of Residence at Thorneloe University where she strives to ensure a happy, healthy and safe residence life for all members of the residence community. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for a variety of causes across the city. She has been actively involved in her community through a number of committees, including the Ward 1 Kingsmount/Bell Park Community Action Network, the Greater Sudbury Kinette Club, Sudbury Women\'s Action Group, PoliticsNOW, Conseil d\'éducation catholique, Sole Hope, as well as United Nations Association of Canada - Sudbury Chapter. She loves to travel and is fluent in English and French, and is currently learning Spanish. Stacy lives in Sudbury, and is the proud mother of three children, ages 11, 10, and 8.
