ABOUT STACY GARDNER
I am a writer, filmmaker, and communications consultant based in St. John\'s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Through my practice, Stacy Gardner Ink, I work with organizations and individuals who need a strong storytelling hand — whether that\'s a communications strategy, editorial work, content development, or creative production.My films have screened at 18+ international festivals and broadcast on CBC Gem. I have been recognized with the Pamela Segger Emerging Filmmaker Award (WIFT-AT), Best Short Doc at the Oakland Film Festival, Best Writer at the Couch Film Festival, and Best Script at the Liverpool Indie Film Awards. My work as a writer was commissioned by CBC Radio — selected from over 400 national submissions — and recognized with a Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Circle Award for investigative journalism. I am a published poet and a member of the Writers Guild ofCanada and the Playwrights Guild of Canada.On the professional side, I bring 20+ years of communications, community engagement, and project coordination experience. As Local Immigration Partnership Coordinator for the City of St. John\'s, Iwrote speeches and public remarks for the Mayor, created and launched the My New St. John\'s Expo — now an established annual community event — managed federal reporting to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and led a 30-member partnership council. I have also worked as a copy and section editor at an international magazine, as a news writer at CTV NewsNet, and as a contributor to Chatelaine and Today\'s Parent. Earlier in my career I spent more than a decade doingfrontline community work at Covenant House Toronto, where I founded Quills on the Edge — a therapeutic creative writing program that continues to run across multiple organizations.I am available for freelance writing, partnership coordination, editorial work, communications consulting, community engagement projects, and creative collaboration.
