About Stacia Kuceyeski
My work at the Ohio History Connection began in Over the past two decades, I’ve worked across collections, digital services, education, outreach, and operations, long enough to see how institutions evolve, how decisions echo over time, and how leadership shapes culture in ways both visible and unseen.Today, as Chief Public Impact Officer, my work centers on how people encounter history in public life. I oversee audience-facing areas including historic sites, collections stewardship, American Indian relations, and public engagement. I’m especially attentive to the conditions that make good work possible over the long term: clarity of purpose, ethical practice, shared authority, and care for the people doing the work.A consistent thread in my career has been inclusive storytelling and community collaboration. I’ve helped shape institutional practices grounded in cultural humility, responsible stewardship, and trust, particularly in relationship with American Indian tribal nations. I believe strong public institutions are built not only through vision, but through listening, restraint, and follow‑through.I’m also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), and mindfulness informs how I lead, bringing steadiness, reflection, and presence to complex situations and moments of transition.Outside of work, I enjoy crocheting while watching The Golden Girls, collecting sassy earrings, and homesteading. I also maintain a deep and abiding affection for the 27th U.S. president, William Howard Taft.I also consult as a thought partner for leaders and future leaders who are developing their practice, sense of authority, and capacity to lead well in complex environments. I don’t do strategic or interpretive planning; my work lives in conversation: helping people clarify how they lead, how they decide, and how they show up for others. If you’re looking for a reflective, values‑grounded partner to support your growth as a leader, I’d be glad to connect.
