Currently the Senior Economic Development Manager focused on an eight county region in North Central Florida for Duke Energy- Formerly the Government and Community Relations Manager where I managed key internal and external relationships for Duke Energy Florida for a six-county region in North Central Florida (Alachua, Citrus, Hernando, Levy, Sumter and Marion). Responsible for relationships between local governments/universities/colleges and philanthropy with non-profit organizations in counties listed-Formerly oversaw all economic development and community engagement activities, as well as managing a comprehensive economic development program for the Gainesville, Florida MSA with specific focus on advocacy and marketing, and interfacing between new business attraction, business retention and expansion and the startup community-Assisted in attracting and retaining 5100+ jobs and $500+ million in capital investment to the Greater Gainesville region (20••••22) from regional, national, and international companies-Led the development of a new 5-year community and economic development strategy (Collaborate 2025), fundraising and implementation plan for the region through the facilitation of the economic development steering committee, MarketStreet Consultants, and other community leaders.Initiated, developed and maintained strong relationships with industry, universities and colleges, local and state workforce, utility companies and educational partners throughout the region to build a more highly qualified and talented workforce-Led industry development for targeted industries (manufacturing/advanced materials, biotechnology, logistics, agriculture and IT) facilitating economic development incentives, real estate/site selection, utilities, workforce development, financing, incubator resources, etc.
