In the community, Stacey Chavis serves on the Prevent Child Abuse Georgia Advisory Board, Voices for Georgia’s Children Board of Directors, Junior Leagues of Georgia State Public Affairs Committee, and Georgia Forward board of Directors. She also serves on the Grady Ambassador Force with Grady Hospital System and the University of Georgia Alumni Association - Black Alumni Leadership Council. Previously, Stacey served on the United Way of Greater Atlanta Board of Directors, Junior League of Atlanta Board of Directors, League of Women Voters-Georgia Board of Directors, Oglethorpe University National Alumni Association, and Wellspring Living Board of Directors.Stacey is a member of Junior League of Atlanta, League of Women Voters – Atlanta Fulton County, National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) – Greater Atlanta Section, and Top Ladies of Distinction – North Atlanta Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc- Atlanta Alumnae Chapter. She was an honoree in Outstanding Atlanta. Most recently, Stacey was named to the University of Georgia 40 under 40 Class of 2020. She was also featured as an Unsung Hero in Simply Buckhead magazine for her work in the fight against human trafficking of children. Stacey received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with Politics minor from Oglethorpe University and attended The Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in the Study of Law from the University of Georgia School of Law.
