Stacey Schaab is a nationally recognized healthcare executive with extensive expertise in nursing leadership, quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement across acute care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing settings. Known for delivering measurable and sustainable outcomes, she blends operational excellence with a people-centered leadership approach grounded in servant leadership and high-reliability principles.Stacey joined Inova Health System in 2016 as Director of Quality for the Inova Mount Vernon Campus and was promoted to Senior Director of Nursing at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital (IMVH) in 2019. Beginning in September 2023, she assumed system-wide leadership of Inova’s Fall Prevention strategy, advancing the organization’s Quest to Zero Falls across multiple hospitals and care settings.Under Stacey’s leadership, IMVH achieved a 2025 fall rate of 1.80, one of the lowest in the system, while maintaining reliability during periods of high patient acuity. System-wide fall rates remained stable and competitive, reflecting consistent application of evidence-based prevention strategies. A key indicator of progress has been safer fall management, with assisted falls increasing from 28% to 33% system-wide, alongside increases in no-harm falls and low Serious Safety Event fall rates.Stacey also led exceptional culture and engagement outcomes. Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation achieved a 96.2% Safety Culture Score, exceeding national benchmarks by more than 32%, and 95.1% staff engagement, outperforming national benchmarks by 24%. The combined 2025 turnover rate across her areas was 2.38%. She partnered with senior leaders to redesign Inova’s Healthy Culture of Well-Being initiative and serves on system-wide Bias and Discrimination efforts.She has led Joint Commission surveys with zero clinical findings, implemented first-in-the-system innovations including a Virtual RN program, and achieved a 90% reduction in hypoglycemia events through EPIC-driven interventions. Previously, Stacey led performance improvement at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, achieving a 44% reduction in falls in one year.Stacey holds degrees from Purdue University, the University of St. Francis, and Indiana Wesleyan University, and maintains multiple national certifications.
