Angel Investor @Okgn Wman Angel Funds
Kelowna, BC, CA
The Okanagan Women’s Mentoring and Angel Network (WMAN) empowers women-owned and gender-diverse businesses in Western Canada by increasing women angel investors and board members. Despite superior financial performance by women-led teams, they receive less than 3% of startup capital. OKGN WMAN pools investments from 25-35 women in the Okanagan, to co-invest in promising companies. Their inaugural fund launched on International Women’s Day 2021, aiming to bridge the gender gap in venture capital. OKGN WMAN also fosters a diverse entrepreneurship ecosystem, emphasizing social impact ventures and femtech, while advocating for equitable financing opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
