Embracing an opportunity to work with the first company to modernize the issuer processing segment of the payments industry, I joined Marqeta to steer a year-long IPO process. My executive leadership experience, extensive subject matter expertise in developer software, and long-standing relationships with analysts and investors were critical to leading the effort and supporting the CEO and CFO in their first-ever IPO. In addition to building out the firm’s IR function, I led the charge in crafting a clear and compelling story to build long-term credibility for a company with an entirely new model, operating in a market that was dominated by legacy players. Through masterful storytelling and extensive investor education, I successfully conveyed the company’s position in the industry and how we stacked up against our competitors. I was also directly responsible for analyst days and roadshow planning/preparation. Now that the IPO process is complete, I’m ramping up for further development of the investor relations department to support corporate objectives going forward.
