About Spyridon Soldatos
Born in 1983 on Lefkada, Greece, Spyridon Soldatos is an active-duty Army Aviation officer in the Hellenic Army. He currently holds the rank of Major (OF-3) and is attending the U.S. Command and General Staff College (CGSC) as an International Military Student. Additionally, he is an experienced AH-64 Apache attack helicopter Pilot in Command (PIC) and a certified Aviation Safety Officer and Accident Investigator, accredited by the Hellenic Air Force.He graduated with distinction from the Hellenic Army Academy, ranking second in his class. He completed both the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course and the Basic Helicopter Pilot Course with distinction, graduating first in his class and qualifying on the AH-64 Apache. His professional military education continued with the Combined Captains Career Course and then the Hellenic Army War College, with distinction, graduating first in his class.Major Soldatos has held a wide range of operational and leadership roles, including Company Commander and instructor at the Special Forces Training Center; Company Commander and Staff Officer (chief of S1, S2, and S3) at the 1st Attack Helicopter Battalion; Executive Officer at the 1st Airport Support Battalion; and S3 Staff Officer at the 1st Army Aviation Brigade. He has participated in numerous national, joint, NATO, and multinational training exercises in Greece, Cyprus, Israel, and Georgia.In addition to his military education, he holds a BA in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus and an MA in International Relations and European Studies (summa cum laude), specializing in Conflict and Peace Studies, from the University of Nicosia. He is also a Certified Negotiator through the Athens University of Economics and Business.He is fluent in English and has working proficiency in French, Italian, and Spanish.
