The purpose of this role in the Town of Sharon is to lead energy and decarbonization initiatives across municipal facilities while supporting capital planning and cross-department collaboration. The role oversees solar and battery projects, EV charging infrastructure, and building automation upgrades; tracks facility performance to identify efficiency and electrification opportunities; and secures funding through programs such as Green Communities and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center to advance Sharon’s long-term sustainability goals.The position is shared between the two communities and is seated in the General Manager\'s office in Norwood and the Town Administrator\'s office in Sharon.Key Responsibilities:• Administers and manages Green Communities, Energy Efficiency and facility related projects. • Assists with the development/implementation of the town\'s energy plan, helps manage energy efficiency and renewable energy grant funded projects, serves as liaison to the town\'s energy committee, and seeks grant and other funding opportunities for reducing energy use. • Collaborates with residents and technical experts on the Energy Advisory Committee and Municipal Solar Oversight Committee, these boards govern Energy and Solar policy, control and planning for town owned or leased facilities. • Communicates and maintains relationships with community stakeholders and town committees interested in the town\'s energy policies, goals, and programs. Represents the Town in a professional and positive manner and serves as an ambassador for energy programming and services. Represents the Town at community, regional, state, and national events. •Helps the Towns manage their portfolio\'s of energy procurement via aggregation and other innovative strategies.
