As a Graduate Apprentice Trainee (GAT) at Tata Motors Car Plant in the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department, I am actively involved in end-to-end material planning and scheduling using SAP (MM/PP modules). My role includes monitoring and managing the flow of direct (production-critical) and indirect (supportive) materials, ensuring just-in-time (JIT) availability for uninterrupted production.Key responsibilities:• Material Scheduling: Creating and maintaining material requirement plans (MRP) for various vehicle models and components.• SAP Operations: Utilizing SAP for purchase requisitions, stock monitoring, BOM analysis, and scheduling agreements.• Inventory Management: Coordinating with stores and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels while minimizing excess and shortages.• Supplier Coordination: Ensuring timely delivery by tracking supplier schedules and resolving bottlenecks related to material inflow.• Production Support: Aligning material supply with production schedules and addressing line shortages through dynamic rescheduling.
