About Srushti Shedge
Hello, I am Srushti and I am currently pursuing my M.Sc. in Psycho-Oncology at Christ University, with a deep interest in mental health and cancer care. With a strong foundation in psychology from Ramnarain Ruia College, I’ve built my academic and clinical experience through observerships at King Edward Memorial hospital (KEM), NMMC Hospital, Vashi and Mazumder Shaw Cancer Centre (Narayana Health) along with workshops in neuropsychology, psycho-oncology, and play-based interventions.My academic interests focus on the psychosocial experiences of individuals affected by cancer and their caregivers, including tobacco cessation in women, with research presentations on the Superwoman Schema and Cultural Influences on Women’s Substance Use and Treatment.In addition to academics, I have taught psychology to students across grades and am currently working with PsychoDidi organisation for almost a year now as a mentor/teacher. I’ve held leadership roles, translated for a government project, and volunteered in adolescent well-being programs.I’ve qualified for national-level exams (GATE 2025, UGC for PhD, IPTSE) and currently preparing for the UGC NET-JRF. I aim to bridge clinical care, community awareness, and culturally relevant research in psycho-oncology and mental health.Currently, my primary academic and professional interest lies in pediatric psycho-oncology, with a long-term goal of pursuing a PhD focused on the psychological aspects of children with cancer and their families.Let’s connect if our interests align in psychology, education, pediatrics or cancer care.
