Mechanical Engineer with interests/focus in materials research, thermal management and computational modeling. Over 9 years of Leadership experience and 12 years of federal contract R&D. 17+ years of research experience (over 13 years full-time) in various fields with focus in materials science, mechanics and development of computational and scientific tools. United States Person. For last 7 years, responsible for leading and managing research groups (of 10 - 20 people), with annual budget of $ 3-6 M for the group. Served as Principal Investigator on over 10 SBIR/STTR R&D programs funded by Navy/AF/NASA/DOE. Awarded over $4 million in research funding. Supervised/guided over 30 research projects. Experience developing new modeling methodologies from concept to -> feasibility demonstration to -> scientific-toolkits. Developed multiple (>5) toolkits for materials modeling at different length scales. Research interests in:(a) developing new physics-based tools for simulation of materials phenomena at different scales.(b) developing new thermal management technologies for challenging defense/aerospace applications (c) understanding materials behavior and response in extreme conditions.(d) atomistic scale investigations of chemistry, kinetics & model building (e) uncertainty quantification, data mining and material genome paradigm Experience with modeling techniques at different length scales: Molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo tools, phase-field methods, meshless peridynamics methods, smart composites, modeling of reactive flows and CAD/CAE/FEM tools. Worked on numerous government contract R&D projects for NASA, Navy, Air Force etc. Over 20 peer reviewed publications, 25+ contributed talks, and 30 R&D reports to Govt. Reviewer for multiple international journals and co-organizer of multiple international symposia
