Assist the Second Officer in updating navigational charts and publications. Participate in passage planning, considering potential navigational hazards and environmental factors. Monitor ship traffic and vessel weather patterns, using various communication tools like VHF. Cargo Operations and Mooring:Assist the Chief Officer with cargo loading and discharging operations. Monitor cargo safety and ensure compliance with regulations during loading and operations. Supervise and monitor mooring operations, ensuring safety at the mooring stations. Documentation and Administration:Prepare and maintain port-related documents, such as port clearance and other paperwork. Handle paperwork related to equipment, including logs of inspections, maintenance, and safety drills. Maintain records of meteorological conditions, voyage details, and any operational issues.
