About Srishti Shyam Sunder
Through my various internships in the financial service sector I equipped myself with key skills like evaluating statistical models and various performance parameters of companies to give recommendations for concentrated portfolio investment. Additionally, through my internship with IIFL wealth management, I understood the impact of policy on the commercial banking centre. My interest in exploring this intersectionality of macroeconomics and statistics led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics in the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, miles away from my home city Bombay. I thought I escaped the rains when I left Bombay, but LA weather keeps me on my toes. But the rain doesn’t keep me from seeking my aquatic interest of scuba diving and taking refuge in the underwater world of the turtles. Apart from diving, I love reading books (my latest recommendation is Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow!), learning languages, listening to music (with a passion), playing chess, learning golf and most recently Typesetting on latex. A film connoisseur through and through, I lived out my cinematic few good men moment when I took up an internship with India’s top corporate law firm S&R associates where I set out to broker deals and save lives. While I missed Tom Cruise in the halls of the National Company Law Tribunal, I learned a lot about the world of corporate law by assessing IPOs, drafting prospectus’ and lease agreements, and filing insolvency proceedings. I inculcated these skills at my most latest work experience as a member of the sponsorship committee in Child Rights and You, where I was responsible for complying with various foreign contribution compliance requirements, along with being tasked with drafting the three year budget for our Mica mining initiative purported at rescuing children from pigeonhole mines in villages in the Indian state Jharkhand. While still young, I hope to use my idealism and ambition to jumpstart a career in financial services, hoping to change the world, one stock at a time.
