About Sriraksha V
Learning new things always excites me. As a child, I used to wonder what is the origin of agriculture, how the concept of using various resources to grow crops came into existence and how did it end up as food on our plates. But little later, I got to know that agriculture is not only the crop production technique as all believe, but it is the foundation of civilization and any stable economy. This thought inspired me to perceive my bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. In 3rd year of under graduation, I joined as a volunteer at Subhadra foundation, Sirsi for spreading awareness of social issues and agriculture techniques in rural areas. Demonstrated the preparation of organic fertilizers with 250+ farmers implementing it.2. Demonstrated Vermicompost pit construction and Azolla cultivation has resulted in effective implementation by 100+ farmers. During this period, I got a clear-cut idea of the problems of pests and diseases in their field, and provided suitable control measures under the guidance of my professors.4. It further enhanced my communication skills and people management skills. Curiosity can lead you to possess a hunger for knowledge. Like Madam curie died due to working with radium, Benjamin franklin electrocuted himself while exploring electricity and many people died only to know the taste of cyanide! Must say, it is the power that the research holds. And with my curiosity in entomology, I too did research in my post-graduation (Not to the extent as above mentioned, but I had poured my blood, sweat, and tears into it) which included extensive field surveys, identification of pests and natural enemies, bio-assay experiments. It enabled me to acquire proper planning, organizational and analyzing, and problem-solving skills. My studies have provided me with proficiency in agriculture, research, and analysis. Alongside this, I have developed sound presentation and communication skills while delivering seminars to large audiences at seminars. As such, I’m confident that I can make an instant impact in industrial roles. I am interested in Research and development, Executive, Associate, and Marketing positions. Apart from my academics, I’m a good dancer, an active member of the cultural team, and a budding writer. I love to read novels and cook. A super addict to the sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and a die-hard fan of RCB (yeah, you got to know about my loyalty, level of patience and not losing spirit). I am eager to hear about potential career opportunities, so I would be pleased to chat about job openings.
