Synthesized water-soluble Ni-Phosphine catalysts for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution and oxidation. Characterized via multi-nuclear NMR techniques and mass spectroscopy- Immobilized Ni-Phosphine electrocatalysts onto graphite electrodes and interrogated the catalytic properties of the fabricated electrode. Studied the catalytic mechanism under heterogeneous conditions- Extracted fundamental properties such as equilibrium constants and pKa values for the heterogenized catalyst- Developed Ni-phosphine-based molecular cathodes by grafting a hydrogen evolution catalyst onto carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes, carbon black). Explored the impact of ionomer additives, such as Nafion, on catalytic performance- Performed chemical modifications on molybdenum-sulfide nanoclusters with the aim of improving the catalytic activity of the material
