About Srinivasan Iyengar
I am the Chief Technology Officer for the Energy & Resources Industry team in Asia at Microsoft, based in Bengaluru. I lead the development and deployment of AI Accelerators that drive strategic initiatives and foster cross-functional collaboration. These accelerators are designed to tackle major challenges in the energy sector, including energy transitions, renewable integration, AI-based subsurface modeling, agentic workflows for end-to-end data science pipelines, and complex optimization problems. I’m known for my structured approach and strong stakeholder engagement, and I play a pivotal role in managing complex programs and delivering scalable, impactful solutions.Before stepping into my current role, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft Research India. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My core interests lie in building scalable cloud-native AI systems, distributed computing architectures, and advanced energy systems. With a strong foundation in both research and industry, I bring a unique blend of technical depth and strategic vision to everything I work on.
