Global Innovation Leadership: With more than two decades of experience spanning industry sectors of healthcare and consumer products, I have led transformational change at the intersection of science, technology, and patient/ consumer care. Currently as Executive Director and Head of R and D Diagnostics, Software Devices and Packaging at Takeda, I oversee global innovation strategies across a $30B portfolio, advanced packaging solutions, medical devices, precision medicine and environmental sustainability. My expertise in engineering, material sciences, manufacturing and in-silico simulation allows me to bridge science with business impact to deliver meaningful outcomes for patients/ consumers and organizations. Building and Scaling R&D Organization: I have a proven record of building first-of-its-kind R&D functions, including Takeda’s global packaging design and development capability. With a $4M budget and a 20-member cross-continental team, I established platforms that accelerated time to market, strengthened reliability, and embedded sustainability into development. I thrive on developing high-performing teams, fostering technical expertise, and creating partnerships with academia, industry consortia, and regulatory bodies to advance patient-centric and environmentally responsible innovations. Advancing Precision Medicine & Digital Health: From assay-based biomarkers to connected devices and digital health platforms, I have consistently driven solutions that redefine patient engagement and therapeutic precision. At Takeda, I led digital health initiatives, implemented SaMD decision support tools, patient adherence solutions and developed diagnostics that enabled targeted therapies. At GSK, I was instrumental in developing smart packaging platforms, a first in the industry at the time. My focus remains on blending science and technology to deliver scalable solutions. Sustainable Impact & Industry Leadership: Recognized as a global thought leader, I have published technical papers, contributed to industry standards, and earned multiple awards for packaging innovation and sustainability. I pioneered life cycle assessment–driven programs, established green labs, and advanced eco-friendly platforms that shaped corporate sustainability strategies. As a Fellow of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP) and the Indian Plastics Institute (IPI), I continue to mentor future leaders, contribute to global committees, and champion innovation that balances business growth with environmental responsibility.
