Engaged in a research initiative focused on surveillance and molecular characterization of mobile colistin resistance (mcr) genes to understand their emergence, transmission, and public health implications.Key Contributions:Designed and executed sampling strategies targeting high-risk environmental sites for potential mcr gene reservoirs.Conducted phenotypic and molecular screening to identify and confirm colistin-resistant bacterial strains from diverse environmental sources.Performed genotypic characterization to detect resistance determinants and associated mobile genetic elements.Contributed to the development of a rapid multiplex PCR assay for simultaneous detection of mcr and other antibiotic resistance markers.Generated high-quality research data supporting antimicrobial resistance monitoring and policy-relevant risk assessment.
