ABOUT SPIROS LINARDOPOULOS
I am an experienced scientific leader in Translational Medicine and Drug Discovery in cancer with a record of success in discovering innovative small molecule drugs. I completed my PhD in molecular and cell biology in cancer and I am a chemist by training. My expertise lies in oncology translational sciences: delivering biomarkers for clinical studies, identification and validation of novel drug targets in cancer, discovery of preclinical development candidates, predictive disease models, PK/PD/efficacy relationships and target engagement, prognostic and predictive biomarker development and drug mechanism of action in clinical studies. I led two programs at ICR that delivered preclinical development candidates: FLT3/Aurora inhibitor (CCT241736/EP0042), currently in Phase I in AML (NCT04••••12) and MPS1 (BOS172722) currently in Phase I clinical trials in solid tumors (NCT03••••94). Prior to joining The Institute of Cancer Research, London, UK, I established a new research direction at Onyx Pharmaceuticals, CA, USA, aimed at validating novel targets in cell cycle for drug discovery.Throughout my career I have been an effective team and project leader from target identification to IND-enabling stages. As a pivotal member of senior leadership teams, I have had oversight of the project portfolio resourcing and funding decisions, collaboration with academic and industrial pertness and CROs.
