I am part of the Senior Leadership Team running the PizzaExpress business, with functional accountability across all supply chain related activity, as well as a wider remit driving a cost culture across the company and being the overall Sustainability leadResponsibilities - Manage team of 8 people at Head Office (27 at the Dough Factory)- Accountable for all Food Cost at ingredient level (£75m)- Accountable for the majority of all Non Food costs, including Services (£11m)- Accountable for Utilities, including Purchasing (£15m)- Accountable for our Dough Factory, including Third Party supply (T/O £4m)- Lead our Sustainability Strategy- Accountable for Cost Optimisation projects across the variable spend of the P&L (c£40m in scope)Achievements - Food costs managed to budget and availability / service at above KPI levels for multiple years- Led Purchasing project in 2021 saving over £3m through contract negotiations and tenders- LED lighting roll out - £3m spend to retrofit over 450 restaurants - saving c.£1m per annum in energy costs- Food Waste reduction project delivered in 2019, saving c. £500k per annum- Thorough Brexit contingency plan put in place at minimal cost - with particular focus on maintaining availability in our Republic of Ireland restaurants in the event of hard Brexit- Saved over £1m per year executing cost projects across the wider P&L. Areas covered include Legal fees (commercial / licensing / property), credit card charges, cash collection, music provision, print, recruitment fees, life assurance, content agencies, survey providers- Highest scoring department in internal people engagement surveys- Oversaw CAPEX project to build a trade effluent water treatment plant at the dough factory- Implemented Electricity usage reporting to drive down consumption- Removed all single use plastics from customer facing proposition- Moved vast majority of all print collateral to recyclable materials

I am a high performing and experienced Director level Supply Chain professional who has worked for over 25 years both in FMCG Retail and Casual Dining. My current remit at PizzaExpress covers both the traditional supply chain disciplines of Purchasing (including all Utilities) and Distribution, but also wider cost and service optimisation across the P&L. I also lead our CSR workstream, the Technical function and manage our Dough factory. I previously held many Purchasing and Category Management roles at Sainsbury\'s. I am passionate about developing people and have a track record of progressing talent through organisations. I like to empower people to show off their talents and enjoy their work. Outside of work I like to travel, particularly to areas where I can enhance my wine knowledge, and am a keen, if flawed, guitarist.
