Develop and manage NEI programs designed to improve the nuclear energy industry’s prospects for deploying new nuclear power plants, including advanced LWRs, SMRs and non-LWRs. Develop NEI policy and regulatory positions to ensure a supportive commercial environment for the deployment of new nuclear plants. Identify and advocate regulatory initiatives necessary to improve commercial viability of new nuclear plants. Promote and foster the development of advanced nuclear technologies. Maintain relationships with key personnel at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other national, regional and state organizations that establish policies and regulatory positions that impact the viability of new nuclear power plants. Maintain relationships with industry members responsible for new reactor regulation, manage task forces and working groups to develop consensus industry positions, establish and implement strategies.
