ABOUT SPENCER KELLIS

I am Neuroscience Tech Lead at Blackrock Microsystems, Research Assistant Professor at Keck School of Medicine of USC, and a member of the USC Neurorestoration Center. I work at the interface of neuroscience, engineering, and medicine to restore function lost due to spinal cord injury, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and other conditions that incapacitate communication between the brain and body. I operate in highly interdisciplinary teams with an emphasis on signal processing, statistical inference, data visualization and deep learning. With PhD work in VLSI design and architecture, a postdoc in neuroscience, and career experience in clinical studies, I understand and contribute fluently at every level of neural system design and development from the hardware and software interfaces to the neuroscience and clinical/regulatory applications.
