About Spencer Martin

I am passionate about helping people develop their capacity to be successful. Whether that is adults in industry and education, or K-12 students, I believe that everyone can learn and develop. My career as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) educator has largely been focused on developing a growth mindset in myself, my students and educators that I serve. Passion for curriculum development, inquiry learning, project based instruction, student success, and pre-service/in-service teacher development, has guided my work. These passions culminated with my current career as the founder of STEM Ed Consulting.In my current work I have a deep interest in quality science curriculum that is designed to meet the vision of the Next Generation Science Standards. I believe that the NGSS are a tool for equity and that teachers deserve quality curriculum resources and meaningful professional development along with that.I also thrive on creating so in my free time I work as freelance graphic, web and instructional designer. I like creating art, logos, beautiful Power Point presentations, greeting cards, websites, and anything else that you can think of. Pitch me your idea, no matter how nascent, and I will be honored to help it come to life.My Graduate Research at the University of Texas at Austin involved developing engineering content specificity for a classroom observation protocol. I received my Master\'s Degree in STEM Education with a specialty in Engineering. My graduate research at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, where I received my Ed.S in Curriculum and Instruction, was focused on an action research project of teacher perceptions of and development around capacity in the NGSS. I have extensive experience in Curriculum Development, Professional Development, Product Management, Sales & User Enablement, Instructional Design, Project Based Learning, Science Education, Engineering Education, NGSS curriculum and assessment development, and Pre-Service/In-Service Teacher Support.See below for a link to my design website.

   Mar 2026 — Present

   Lead strategy and execution for CrunchLabs’ curriculum initiatives, expanding access to high quality STEM learning experiences for middle school students. Manage the curriculum development pipeline from concept to launch, ensuring content aligns with educational standards while maintaining the creativity and engineering mindset central to the CrunchLabs brand.Oversaw curriculum developers and cross functional collaborators across engineering, media production, and education teams. Guide the creation of hands-on experiments, instructional materials, and digital resources that translate complex scientific ideas into engaging, real world learning experiences. Drive quality, coherence, and impact across the curriculum portfolio while continuously improving content through educator feedback and classroom testing.Class CrunchLabs is a free science curriculum and a whole lot of science fun built for the Next Generation Science Standards, designed to spark curiosity and unleash creativity in every student.
