ABOUT SPENCER GOLDEN-SIMS

Spencer Golden-Sims serves as Senior Development Manager for Bedrock Detroit, where he plays a critical role in the strategic initiation and execution of the firm’s diverse real estate portfolio. With over 10 years of experience in construction and commercial real estate development, Spencer is instrumental in driving Bedrock\'s transformative growth across the Detroit and Cleveland markets and shaping the region\'s built environment.Spencer oversees the full development lifecycle, from project conception through stabilization, with a focus on mitigating risk and ensuring successful delivery. His core responsibilities and areas of expertise include:• Development Leadership: Directing multi-disciplinary internal and external teams—including architects, engineers, contractors, and legal counsel—to ensure projects meet the highest standards of quality, remain on schedule, and stay within budget.• Entitlements & Incentives: Navigating complex zoning, planning, and regulatory processes with municipal and government agencies to secure necessary project approvals and development incentives.• Financial & Stakeholder Management: Providing financial oversight by monitoring project pro formas, managing change orders, and delivering timely financial reporting to investors and leadership. He also maintains strong working relationships with municipal authorities and joint venture partners.• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identifying and implementing strategies to mitigate potential development risks (regulatory, construction, or financial) to ensure uninterrupted project execution.Prior to joining Bedrock, Spencer held key development roles at the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC), a non-profit organization focused on revitalizing Cincinnati’s urban core. While there, he successfully delivered multi-million-dollars in new developments, underscoring his experience in impactful, community-focused projects.Spencer is the Founding Chair of the Scholarship Committee on the First Tee of Greater Detroit Board of Directors. He is also an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), contributing to best practices in land use and development. He holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Xavier University and a professional certificate in Real Estate Development from Cornell University.
