About Spencer Brod

Everyone has an origination story, and mine begins in Greenwich, Connecticut, on the shore of Long Island Sound. My entrepreneur dad commuted every day to New York City and through him I understood his dual life of working days in the city juxtaposed with the quiet suburban lifestyle. My parents taught me both to value my unique gifts and to never give up. I know this sounds corny, but my mother always said, “Do not compare yourself with others”. From the sixth grade, I was the captain of my ship. If no one wanted to go with me on my journey, I was happy to go at it alone. There are not too many mountains one can move on one’s own so as my sites grew higher, I realized I had to learn to master team dynamics in order to be successful. The majority of my business career has been dedicated to driving teams to move mountains.Today, I lead with the ideal of being a servant leader, empowering and encouraging the growth of the team and creating value, from my ability to see around corners to new opportunity. I revel in the excitement of structuring the deal, aligning intreats and growing and transforming businesses.I strive for a high standard of excellence, and obtaining lofty goals. through planning, hard work and perseverance, while remaining honest and “keeping it real”. This passion extends to my personal life and to my desire to be the best father and husband that I can be, as well as, an avid outdoorsman, and creative force, in photography, film-making, and music.For me Teddy Roosevelt best summed my life motto.“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
