ABOUT NEIL SCHWARTZMAN

I serve as President of the RISE Information Security Foundation and as Executive Director of CAUCE, a non-profit that advocates for the rights and safety of internet users before governments, law enforcement, and international industry bodies. For more than 30 years, I’ve been dedicated to making the internet safer and more trustworthy — leading initiatives to combat online abuse, protect users, and strengthen global cybersecurity standards. My work has included developing innovative anti-abuse technologies and shaping foundational industry standards. I wrote the world’s first distributed spam filter, uncovered the core concept behind DMARC, helped write and implement Canada’s Anti-spam Law, and led anti-phishing operations for iCloud Mail and Message.Beyond the technical side, I’ve contributed to policy and public good efforts worldwide, serving on expert committees and task forces that advise on cybersecurity strategy and best practices. I’m also honored to have received the first-ever Mary Litynski Lifetime Achievement Award from M3AAWG and to share my perspectives on CircleID and other professional platforms. My mission remains simple: to help build a safer, more resilient digital world for everyone.
