About Souvik Ghosh
Growing up, I witnessed how technology has changed India and the World in such positive ways. Technology makes me wonder and equips me with the power I always wanted. Power? Power to lay impact in lifestyles and livelihoods, thousands of miles away from my homeland, maybe in some remote place in the deserts or mountains. But power needs a weapon? Money/guns or swords? I have none. I have my laptop, some worthy connections, and some beautiful labs. These weapons help me and my team builds systems for a sustainable future. I hope in the future, I can leverage my passion by assisting tech development in middle-income countries. Middle and Low-income countries struggle with bringing the right technologies to leverage socioeconomic development.I have worked on various research and startup projects as a Data Scientist and a Freelancer. Keen on research, my interest lies in Lipreading, Generative AI(Audio-visual, vision and text-to-speech), Video surveillance and Applied AI. Apart from AI,I love meeting new changemakers from around the World, discussing and brainstorming solutions to problems in their countries. Having a liking for driving in the mountains, next time you call me in a meet, make sure we discuss while we hike our way to the top.
