About Souvik Ghosh

First and foremost, I love writing code. Ever since writing my first program in Python and manipulating it to produce a desired output, I have been obsessed with the idea of using software to solve practical problems. Combined with my hands on experience with hardware, my current role with CalAmp hits the sweet spot for me in terms of getting to learn and enjoy best of both worlds. I believe in the power of technology to transform and improve the lives of people around the world.My first professional assignment was with Qualcomm, I was given the opportunity to work on an upcoming RF front end module as a Product and Test Engineer. This opportunity provided me with valuable experience in terms of analyzing LTE, WCDMA, CDMA and GSM cellular standards. For my second professional assignment I joined CalAmp as an Associate Engineer, where I was initially responsible for designing, developing automated test cases and analyzing device logs utilizing Python and its various frameworks like pytest, Robot. Due to an ever growing love for this interesting field of IoT(Internet of Things), I have been happily expanding my role within the organisation ever since. Today, I am a Engineer II with ownership of validation for Security(TLS), Wi-Fi and BLE components as well as ever growing involvement in analysis of CalAmp Telematics Cloud (proprietary back end server) to provide meaningful insights to internal team for introducing new products to the fleet of vehicles. Even when I leave the office, I tend to continue writing code at the house. Most recently I have worked on a python script which helped me choose an apartment complex with most affordable rent. For this I had to scrape various apartment websites for up to date prices and then send notifications via email/text when price decreased below certain threshold. Various python modules helped me accomplish this task like Pandas, SciPy, Numpy, Matplotlib, requestsSkills/Interests: Python, Linux Command line, pytest, robot framework, nltk, scikit learn, regular expressions, Pandas, json, Matplotlib, plotly, git, requests, SciPy, NumPy
