ABOUT SOUTICK SAHA

As a bioinformatics developer at Wolfram, I design and build tools that use computation to gather insights from large biological datasets. My work combines software development, analyzing and benchmarking AI models, data integration using APIs, and large-scale biological analysis to support both researchers and educators. I specialize in developing Wolfram Language functionalities for structural biology and bioinformatics, including direct access to hundreds of millions of protein structures and genetic variants from leading AI models & databases such as AlphaFold, AlphaMissense, and the ESM Metagenomic Atlas.A highlight of my work is the ProteinVisualization paclet — a comprehensive software package with 20+ functions for analyzing and visualizing protein structures [1]. I also developed tools for identifying disordered regions in proteins, integrated large biological databases into Wolfram’s ecosystem, and benchmarked our tools for real-world research use. Beyond coding, I’ve mentored students, contributed to outreach, and shared technical insights through talks and posts.Prior to Wolfram, I completed my PhD in physics at Purdue University, where I used mathematical and computational modeling to study cell migration in cancer cells and bacteria. If you’d like to know more about any of these projects, feel free to connect and reach out![1] Wolfram ProteinVisualization Software package: https://resources.wolframcloud.com/PacletRepository/resources/WolframChemistry/ProteinVisualization/
