As a Consultant with EY’s Government and Public Sector Advisory team, I support the Government of Meghalaya in designing and implementing flagship livelihood and agriculture missions with a focus on organic value chains, cooperative development, and market access.I serve as a technical advisor under the IFAD-funded Megha-LAMP project and provide policy and institutional support to key state and centrally and state government sponsored programs, including:• Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region (MOVCDNER)• Meghalaya State Organic Mission (2024–28)• Van Dhan Yojana• Piggery Value Chain Development Mission• Khasi Mandarin Rejuvenation ProjectKey contributions include co-drafting the Meghalaya State Organic and Natural Farming Policy 2023 and supporting the launch of one of India’s largest organic missions, targeting 1 lakh hectares under certification. I enabled organic certification and capacity building for 28 FPOs, impacting over farmers.I also supported the formation of MEGNOLIA, the state’s organic mission agency, and conceptualized the ‘Meghalaya Collective Organics’ brand.My role has focused heavily on market development and export enablement. I facilitated the first-ever export of GI-tagged Khasi Mandarin via Guwahati Customs to the Middle East, and initiated the first sea shipment of NPOP-certified Meghalaya ginger to the Maldives and Middle East.Additionally, I supported the design of Meghalaya’s first Organic Spice Industrial and Pulping Unit in Ri-Bhoi, which will enable local value addition and incubation for turmeric and ginger.This role integrates policy, implementation, and cross-sector partnerships to transform Meghalaya’s agri-livelihood ecosystem.
