About Sounak Sarkar
In my decade-long relationship with tech, I have spent 6+ years building, deploying, and scaling products that leverage AI/ML to sustainably improve human experiences at scale. I\'m currently building Google\'s Cybersecurity Cloud Platform (Chronicle). Previously as an AI Product Manager at Jio Haptik, I built a SaaS platform that allows businesses to build fine-tuned AI Agents using their data stack to (1) generate new leads & guide customers with online product purchases to drive up e-commerce sales, and (2) increase Contact Center Agent productivity through Intelligent Workflow Automation & Real-time Knowledge Assist, enabling agents to solve customer issues more effectively and efficiently. Prior to Haptik, I worked at Paytm, a leading Indian fintech startup valued at $16Bn, where I leveraged AI/ML (collaborative filtering) to identify user-product affinity, drive up ad personalisation on Paytm\'s e-commerce app & web pages, and curate email and push campaigns to drive product growth. I was subsequently a founding team member at Spotlight, and helped international businesses achieve greater efficiency in managing foreign exchange transactions by leveraging AI/ML (pattern recognition). Spotlight\'s clients successfully reduced costs by 85% or more. In my role as a Legal Counsel at NSE, one of the world’s largest stock exchanges, I was recognised for my role in shaping precedents and guiding amendments to trading rules and risk-management and enforcement practices. I also helped write the operational rules for new listing, trading, and factoring platforms, and facilitated entry of NSE\'s brokers into offshore markets. I graduated as a lawyer from NLSIU, Bangalore, and completed my MBA from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, with specialisations in Marketing & Finance.
