About Soumya Dutta
I am currently pursuing my doctoral studies at the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, with a research focus on decision-making and Yoga-based practices. My academic journey has been interdisciplinary—ranging from an MPhil in Cognitive Science at Jadavpur University to an M.A. in Mass Communication at Rabindra Bharati University, both in Kolkata. Over the years, I have been fortunate to receive several scholarships and awards from the Government of West Bengal, the Government of India, and various organizations in India and abroad. In 2022, I was honored with the MSR Fetzer Scholarship by the Management, Spirituality, and Religion (MSR) division of the Academy of Management and was recently awarded the MSR Promising Dissertation Award 2024 for my proposal titled “Raja Yoga Enlightenment: Illuminating the Path to Socially Responsible Decision-making.” I have also been selected as a Humanistic Management Fellow by the International Humanistic Management Association (IHMA) for the 2024–25 academic year, which aligns closely with my interest in values-driven and socially responsible research in management.
