ABOUT SOUMYA BASAVARAJ

I am a Lead Instructional Designer at Aptara Corporation working on fantastic e-learning courses for leading US clients in the BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance) sector. I am open to conversations and roles in the E-learning industry, as an Instructional Designer or Learning Experience Designer. I also bring high German language skills, leadership abilities, project management skills, effective communication, and customer orientation to the table. For the last 15 years, I have been a German language expert & trainer, learning and development professional, and inter-cultural trainer. I speak German at near-native level (C2 at the Goethe-Institut). I was employed at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India (MBRDI) from December 2010 to September 2019 within the L&D function, part of Human Resources. In my position as Manager for learning and development in the HR department, I led the portfolio of foreign languages and intercultural trainings at MBRDI, which trained more than 1200 employees every year. From January 2017 to January 2019, I facilitated 50 intercultural workshops about India and successful cooperation with Indians at Daimler AG in Germany (Sindelfingen & Esslingen) in which 900 German R&D employees of Daimler AG participated. My award-winning inter-cultural workshops were thought-provoking, aroused empathy and encouraged collaboration and co-creation between employees at the German headquarters and Indian offshore colleagues at MBRDI. I have a detailed-oriented, German style of working with excellent communication skills that allow me to get the best results in projects that I take on. In the recent past (20••••20), I gained some leadership experience as a Senior Project Manager, leading a team of 30 employees of a German language helpdesk in Accounts Payables at Robert Bosch Engineering and Business solutions.
