ABOUT SOUMITRA PALIT
With over eight years of combined experience in clinical and public health settings, I am a graduate research assistant and teaching assistant at university of New Mexico (UNM- PhD) and was the same at Central Michigan University (CMU-MPH) and a public health intern at My Community Dental Centers (MCDC). I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, as well as a certificate in diabetology. My skills include Epidemiological data analysis with R and Base SAS 9.4, environmental health, biostatistics, which I use to conduct research on health disparities, chronic diseases, and community-based interventions. As a public health intern, I support the development and implementation of oral health programs and services for underserved populations in Michigan. My core competencies are in public health research, data analysis, program evaluation, health education, and health promotion. I am passionate about improving health outcomes and reducing health inequities through evidence-based practice, collaboration, and innovation. I seek to join a team that shares my vision and values, and that can offer me opportunities to grow and learn as a public health professional.
