ABOUT SOUMENDU BAGCHI
I am primarily interested in multiscale materials physics driving autonomous discovery pathways for tailored material functionality which may not only impact the state of the art technology but could also be capable of advancing fundamental scientific knowledge. More specifically-I design and implement novel scale bridging mechanistic and data-driven modeling methods to quantify hierarchical defect dynamics in complex material structures. These are mostly driven by UQ-based active learning cycles to construct accelerated data driven models-To achieve this, I deploy next generation Exascale compatible HPC and data-driven workflows in leadership class massively parallel computational facilities with heterogeneous architectures (CPU+GPU).
