Analysis of the thermomechanical fatigue behavior of engine cylinder heads produced by the lost mold process, and reidentification of a suitable fatigue criterion.• Modeling of the elasto-plastic behavior of nine families of metallic materials using the Ramberg–Osgood approximation to assess the relevance of the fatigue criterion without physical testing.• Modeling of a tensile test according to the Swift, Voce, and Ludwik laws in Excel, with comparison of the criteria using the least squares method.• Development of a Python script automating the extraction and integration of Abaqus material data into the internal database.
